Over 15 years ago, I dove into a yoga asana practice at a local gym out of curiosity. At the time, I loved anything cardio or dance (which, I still love to this day) to help me feel good mentally and physically. Yoga gradually became part of that formula.
The more I practiced the more at ease and grounded I felt. What was it about this practice that made me FEEL so damn GOOD?! I wanted to learn more and saved up to take a 200-hr yoga teacher training in 2015. I was no handstand expert or even that flexible, but I had an open mind. Turns out, I didn't need to either of those things and I ended up wanting to share the practice with others.
There are 8 limbs or branches of yoga, I lead my students in a few of those branches: Asana (yoga poses), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dhyana (focused concentration).
I invite students to find their own unique flow on the mat through thoughtful sequences and mindfulness, while being supported with precise cueing, demonstration and modifications.
Yoga has lead me to mental clarity, strength and overall well-being to thrive. My hope in sharing the practice is that it leads others to do the same.
